Local Politics - October election likely to be on same boundaries - at least west of Rimutaka hill. If you're thinking about standing for Council, it's fascinating and worthwhile.

Issues of jobs, affordable sustainable housing, a living wage, rates levels, arts support, access to ICT for children and the disadvantaged, promotion of our city as a place where talent wants to live, protecting our open spaces for conservation and recreation, and genuine transport choices run hot. Citizen engagement, online and face to face, is essential for solving tricky city questions. Lots of work to do - frugally.

Personal - get across the Cook Strait in a kayak! Enjoy our wonderful city - in theatres, outdoors, in "op shops", markets and local designer stores.

Family and friends - spend time walking, talking and eating together - and relaxing watching our funny chickens. Skype with overseas friends and relatives.
